The Engineering Specialist Conveyor Belts is a 2.9.2 appointment in terms of the MHS Act and is responsible to supervise Foremen and Artisans on the shaft. The Engineering Specialist Conveyor Belts will be responsible for conveyor belts on Union Mine.
Work of Role
Administration of necessary systems
Ensure process remains fully operational
Undertake to plan the critical spares requirements/availability according to the planned maintenance schedule and ensure their availability
Liaise with the mine management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget and employee resources
Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements
Evaluate, monitor and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targets
Oversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around all sections of the conveyor belts

Grade 12
Trade Certificate
Law and Standards with Supervisory Courses
Experience
Minimum of 5 years post trade qualified experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as Senior Engineering Foreman
