    Engineering Specialist Electrical Control and Automation

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage a team of Electronic technicians and Electricians
    • Maintain electronic process control systems – hardware and software.
    • Ensure that installation of new process control systems is done according to company standards.
    • Maintain field hardware – loop checks / calibration, etc.
    • Review process control philosophies and recommend optimisation.
    • Audit process control programmes regularly and ensure that changes that are made are carried out according to ISO procedure.
    • Ensure update information (electrical drawing, manuals, etc) regarding electronic systems.
    • Coordinate (program) individual machine output to optimise overall line performance.
    • Ensure proper access control to electronic system.
    • Fault finding and maintaining electronic equipment.
    • Ensure current backup for electronic systems on the designated server location.
    • Perform all relevant administrative functions.
    • Provide second line problem solving across the plant during and after hours when required.
    • Improving line control systems.
    • Optimising inspection equipment.
    • Liaise with original equipment suppliers to provide support.
    • Train / coach Electronic Technicians, Electrical Artisans, and Machine Specialists.

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, experience/skills:

    • Recognised N6 Electrical Engineering Certificate and a trade test certificate/ S4 Electrical/ Electronic National Diploma.
    • Knowledge of bottling equipment, workshop and engineering practices, tools, and apparatus.
    • Minimum of 5 years practical experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance of electronic systems
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in plc programming (Siemens)
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Networks (Profibus/Net, EtherNet, Asi, Canbus etc)
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Inspection and Coding
    • 2 years’ experience in managing a Team.
    • Knowledge of packaging/ bottling equipment
    • Have proven verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations regarding tools.
    • Knowledge in FMCG environment will be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of all workshop/engineering tools, machines, apparatus, and materials.
    • Computer literate, SAP, MS Word & MS Excel.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure
