    ESOP & Technical Accounting Manager

    Job Description    

    • Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in the Finance Department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for an ESOP & Technical Accounting Manager role, which is based in Midrand. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller.

    To co-ordinate, manage and administer the day-to-day operations of The Ikageng Employee Share Trust. To provide technical accounting support, identify and roll out any IFRS changes across all of the entities within the South African Group structure.
    Key Duties & Responsibilities    
    Outputs and Accountabilities

    •  Facilitate the implementation and co-ordinate all activities of the trust in accordance with the Trust Deed, consulting relevant stakeholders where applicable. E.g.
    • Appointment of trustees
    • Board meeting preparation, content co-ordination and execution of any matters arising

    Trustee elections

    • Creation and execution of relevant communications of the Trust
    •  Perform company secretarial function as well as put in place necessary governance framework for the Trust
    •  Manage and co-ordinate all activities with the Administrator of the Trust
    •  Employ professional services as required by the Trust
    •  Co-ordinate activities across all departments of the company e.g. Finance, PAC, IT and HR
    •  Prepare and plan for Award Committee, allocation of rights and distribution of dividends
    •  Liaise with all stakeholders as and when necessary e.g. union representatives, auditors, administrator etc.
    •  Prepare and adhere to a budget for the Trust in line with the Trust Deed
    •  Manage the financial activities of the trust, including preparation of management accounts, HFM submissions, financial statements, IFRS 2 charges, etc.
    •  Manage the monthly headcount reconciliation process between the company and the trust administrator
    •  This role has an indirect impact on the trust through providing strategic direction and guidance
    •  Operate within overarching principles of the trust deed
    •  Autonomy and self-sufficiency are a key requirement
    •  Ability to shape and influence stakeholders
    •  Ability to shape and influence process and practices within the fund across CCBA and external stakeholders
    •  Statutory Accounting Activities
    •  Identify any upcoming accounting standard changes and assess the impact across the South African entities
    •  Facilitate the implementation and co-ordinate all activities associated with any accounting standard changes, E.g.

    Prepare the necessary training and communication material

    • Roll out the necessary process change and training
    •  Support the Financial Manager : Group & Statutory with the compilation and completion of the Annual Financial Statements for all entities in the South African structure in line with the CCBA Group Policies, IFRS Statutory requirements and legal compliance.
    •  Support the Financial Manager : Group & Statutory with monthly, quarterly, annual statutory submissions to CCBA Group

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Knowledge & Experience:

    Educational qualifications

    •  CA (SA)
    •  5+ years’ experience

    Technical knowledge

    •  Company secretarial knowledge
    •  SAP knowledge a distinct advantage
    •  IFRS knowledge a distinct advantage
    •  Tax knowledge an advantage

    Business related knowledge:

    •  A minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting or legal environment or
    •  A minimum of 5 years within a FMCG environment

    Management experience:

    •  Ability to work independently
    •  Ability to interact with people at various levels of the business and facilitate deliverables across teams
