Estimator - Labels at Novus Holdings Ltd

Job Description    

• Novus Labels, a division of Novus Print that specialises in Wet-Glue Wrap-Around Labels and Paper Bags, for diverse markets is seeking to appoint an experienced Estimator – Labels to assist the National Sales Manager in preparing accurate, market-related costing and pricing proposals to support client satisfaction, retention and business growth. The successful candidate will ensure that estimates are delivered timeously, support the sales process with technical costing input, be the custodian of price lists and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships, enabling the organisation to achieve set business targets, turnover and profit margins.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Deliver accurate cost estimates for wet-glue wrap-around labels and paper bags in line with client requirements and production capabilities
• Assist with preparation of competitive and market-related pricing proposals
• Provide relevant technical costing advice to Account Executives and clients
• Apply estimating systems and workflows effectively to ensure high-quality, timely operations
• Liaise with production, procurement and sales team to ensure all client specifications are costed correctly
• Estimate additional factors such as substrates, adhesives, inks, finishing processes and transport costs
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through accurate and professional service

Educational Requirements    

• Matric
• Diploma in Cost Estimating or Cost Accounting will be highly advantageous

Experience Requirements    

• At least 2 – 3 Years’ experience in a print cost estimating environment
• Estimating experience within the printing, labels and packaging industry is essential.

Skills and Competencies    

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in costings
• Sound mathematical and numerical reasoning skills
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office; ERP/estimating systems advantageous)
• Ability to interpret client specifications for Label printing and packaging
• Time management and ability to work under pressure
