Excavator Operator (Northern Cape) at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

• An exciting opportunity exists to safely and efficiently operate excavators in support of tailings operations as per company SOP/STP, ensuring optimal productivity, compliance with safety standards and the achievement of site objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Excavating and loading of materials.
• Connecting and disconnecting of pipes.
• Construction of Spigot pipes stand.
• Construction of tailings walls.
• Levelling and cleaning of the general area.
• Performing of tasks in accordance with relevant safety rules, regulations and job site conditions.
• Conducting daily inspections or all machinery and equipment.
• Completion of pre-use checklist.
• Reporting all hazards and defects to immediate supervisor.
• General housekeeping of excavator and equipment.
• Perform Ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• National Drivers license code 10.
• Valid Competency Certificate of an Excavator Machine.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment.
• Familiar with mining equipment and safety related standards i.e., Excavator.

• Ability to operate independently.
• Action oriented.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.
• Must be medically fit as per company and/or client standards.
• Must be able to pass a Dover test.
• May be expected to work rotating shifts.
• May be required to work overtime from time to time.
