Planning of all export loads, as generated by customer orders, to ensure that orders are delivered as per customer’s requirements in order to satisfy our customer’s demand..
Responsibilities:
Responsibe for planning all the loads generated by customer orders and deliver as per customer’s requirements in order to achieve our customer service levels, as per our service charter.
Ensure transport cost optimization is achieved by utilizing vehicles to their full capacity at the lowest rates with the best possible service delivery;
Drive efficiencies by arranging of co-loads with other internal companies, when required
Communicate daily with transporters and internal sales confirming daily loads and schedules
Identify missing rates, lanes, geo-coding, incorrect addresses and any other master data relating to transport.
Ensure loads are planned and deliveries are made if the system goes down so as not to negatively affect our customer service.
Liaise with the FWD Agents and shipping companies on the loadings, to ensure speedy delivery
Monitoring and managing vehicle GPS tracking system and generate detailed KPI reports.
Liaising with Warehouse for packing of containers and loading of Trucks.
Checking of daily open delivery report on SAP and compare to OPSI to ensure that all loads are despatched as requested.
Finalizing shipping and Clearing documents with all stakeholders.
Contracting, booking and raising transport requisitions.
Reconcile shipment files weekly for audit purposes.
To liaise at all times with all team members and work as a team to reach targets set by the Departmental Manager.
Run daily back order reports and expedite dispatches accordingly to meet monthly regional and departmental targets.
Manage effective route planning, Proven international planning experience.
The development of proactive contingency that is based on possible future changes.
Create, monitor and complete export shipments files to ensure timely, correct information is available to all parties concerned.
Ensure that the proper paperwork aligns to compliance requirements of specific country/customer.
Send original shipping documents (COOs, invoices, certificates, etc.) by courier mail upon customer’s requests to ensure smooth and timely import clearance.
Send pre-advises and scanned set documentation for all customers.
Ensure pre-clearance of cargo.
Build and maintain a strong relationship with service providers to ensure required legal documentation is processed on time to achieve high service levels.
All such duties and/or activities assigned by management/board as and when required.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent.
A diploma or studies towards a Diploma or Degree in Logistics/Warehousing and/or Transport Management will be advantageous.
Required skills
3 years experience in supply chain
Good communication skills (English) and customer service skills
Computer literate, Excel (level 2), SAP R3, OPSI, MS Office
Strong administrative skills
OPSI/Plato/Planforge experience would be advantageous
Extraordinary knowledge of various vehicle configurations / restrictions
Good understanding of Incoterms and Tariff codes
Good understanding of the major transport routes and regional splits of Africa as a whole
Working knowledge of export costings
Self-motivated team player with good people management
