Your responsibilities will include:

• Preventative maintenance to conveyor systems (PLC experience, an advantage) in line with supplier guidelines and maintenance requirements to ensure maximum uptime
• On-going maintenance and troubleshooting to operational equipment such as air-con’s, dock levellers, sectional overhead doors, boom gates, tiger teeth, turnstiles, biometric systems, CCTV, alarms, plumbing systems, etc.
• Basic repairs to items such as fencing, gates, rolltainers, etc.
• Management of spares and re-ordering of critical components under supervision of DC manager

• Conduct electrical and mechanical tests using test equipment
• Knowledge of electronic components, instrumentation and test equipment
• Understanding electrical and mechanical principals - hands on
• Able to apply safety measures in electrical and mechanical environment, ensure OHS policies and procedures are followed
• Knowledge of PLC may be advantageous but is not essential
• Wiring qualifications / knowledge could be advantage
• Knowledge of Drives and controls
• Read wiring diagrams, electrical and mechanical diagrams/plans
• Undertake, improvement, repairs and modifications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Comfortable with change and excellent team player
• Comfortable with learning and adapting to new systems
• Be able to work in a pressured environment.

Qualifications:

• Relevant technical electrical, mechanical or similar qualification
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a relevant industry or service with automated material handling systems, electrical and mechanical engineering / mechatronics
• Experience in the retail/distribution industry would be advantageous.
