    Factory Manager

    • A well-established specialist manufacturing and shopfitting company is seeking a Factory Manager to be responsible for leading and overseeing all manufacturing and production operations within the factory. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production planning, quality control, cost management, staff leadership, and operational performance. The successful candidate will drive productivity and continuous improvement while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a National Senior Certificate; A Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Management, or a related field would be advantageous
    • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in a Factory Management, Production Management, or Manufacturing Leadership role
    • Must have experience within the Shopfitting, Wood Manufacturing, Cabinetry, Joinery, or related manufacturing industries
    • Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, workflow management, and factory operations
    • Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
    • Experience implementing and managing quality control systems and procedures
    • Strong commercial understanding of manufacturing costs, material utilisation, waste reduction, and supply chain management
    • Proven leadership ability with experience managing large production teams in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a hands-on management approach
    • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
    • Good computer literacy and familiarity with production planning and manufacturing systems
    • Must be bilingual with strong communication skills
    • Results-driven, practical, and committed to achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Managing and overseeing all factory operations, manufacturing activities, and production processes.
    • Ensuring production schedules are planned, monitored, and achieved in line with project deadlines and client requirements.
    • Coordinating workflow and communication between Production Teams, Supervisors, Project Managers, Procurement, and Installation Teams.
    • Driving operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the factory.
    • Monitoring manufacturing costs, material consumption, waste, and overall production performance to maximise profitability.
    • Overseeing material planning, stock requirements, and procurement coordination to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Ensuring quality control systems and procedures are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Managing factory staff, including performance management, training, development, scheduling, and disciplinary processes.
    • Ensuring technical drawings, specifications, and production requirements are accurately interpreted and executed.
    • Overseeing machinery, equipment, and factory maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain operational effectiveness.
    • Maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and operational regulations.
    • Identifying production bottlenecks and operational challenges, implementing practical and effective solutions.
    • Assisting with the implementation of systems, processes, and best practices to improve overall factory performance and scalability.
    • Monitoring production output and providing regular reporting on operational performance, efficiencies, and project progress.
