    Facultative Underwriting Intern

    The opportunity:

    • We offer a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate with an exceptional academic record in our Swiss Re P&C Facultative teams, based in Johannesburg.
    • Are you flexible, organized and well prepared to accept all challenges from a very high performing team? This is the opportunity for those who like to support, coordinate and organize.
    • During your internship, you will be contributing to our business, taking on real responsibilities and having to manage your work effectively.
    • You will be assigned a team of facultative underwriters Casualty and Property whom help guide you through your placement and answer any questions you have about your work and our business.
    • Technical training and business skills will be a core part of your Programme, ensuring you leave us with a better understanding of the professional world and how best to make your way in it.

    • You are open minded and keen to learn about a different industry and its related processes
    • You are ready to actively participate in potential projects that are started in your assigned area
    • you are able to liaise with clients to follow up on outstanding information and documentation
    • you are able to take minutes in client meetings
    • you can issue correspondence and meeting minutes
    • you are able to co-ordinate cross border assistant support
    • you can create reports and internal and external presentations
    • you handle general enquiries, or transfer them to the appropriate alternative personnel
    • you can learn quickly in the event that you don't know various systems
    • you can be flexible and are able to manage ad hoc requests from an end-to-end perspective as and when needed

    This internship will last 12 months.

    We are looking for:

    • Minimum business university qualification
    • You have great attention to detail and analytical acumen
    • you are good in Power Point, Excel, Word and other MS Office tools
    • you have strong customer focus with great interpersonal skills and can interact with others effectively
    • you are self-motivated, well organized and efficient, and able to prioritize effectively
    • you enjoy working in a multi-cultural and international environment
    • you enjoy having things under control
