FEL Operator at Afrimat

Minimum Qualification / Experience

• Minimum Grade 12
• At least 3 – 5 years’ experience
• Valid FEL Operator license
• Be literate and functionally numerate
• Possess basic knowledge of machinery
• Be literate and functionally numerate
• Reliable, honest, and motivated
• Safety-conscious
• Understanding safety protocols and mechanical basics is an advantage
• Have a good eyesight, hearing and the ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds with construction job sites
• Shows continuity in attendance
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Be able to work irregular hours which may include night work

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

• Performing daily pre-start inspection checks and ensuring lubrication of machines
• Ensure that the workplace is cleaned regularly
• Assist with general maintenance tasks on and around the plant
• Maintain the cleanliness of the general working area
• Loading the trucks and moving material (stock piling and mixing of material)
• Maintaining safety standards
• Report any general elementary problems to his/her immediate supervisor
• Must be able to carry out instructions given by your superior
• Acknowledge that Management may allocate additional tasks
