Field Facilitator (12 Hours Per Week) (Contract Appointment: 10 Months): Department of Social Work at University of the Free State

Duties and responsibilities:

• Facilitate skills training for assigned small groups (between 15 and 20 students).
• Prepare thoroughly for group facilitation sessions in line with the year group study guide.
• Mark designated assignments, including oral assessments and specific reports (excluding fieldwork process reports for certain year groups).
• Maintain complete and accurate assessment records for each student’s performance.
• Organise and facilitate oral assessments for assigned groups.
• Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions with the Field Instruction Coordinator and the Department.

Inherent Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Social Sciences on NQF Level 8.
• Active registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker (attach proof).
• Minimum of three (3) years of working experience as Social Worker.
• Proficiency in social work supervision models (e.g., Process Model, Developmental Perspective).
• Proven ability to assist during normal working hours.
• Relevant permission from the current employer/HOD to conduct additional work (attach proof).

Recommendations:

• Passion for social work education and professional, ethical conduct.
• Prior experience in student facilitation or supervision.
• Knowledge of the specific theories taught by the UFS Department of Social Work.
