Field Service Technician (Electrical / Mechanical) at JBT Corporation

The Opportunity ...

JBT has an opportunity for an Electrical & Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our team located in Nelspruit, Mpumulanga. Reporting into our Electrical Projects Manager your main responsibilities will be to ensure electrical and mechanical servicing, testing and breakdown maintenance for machinery and equipment throughout the eastern and southern parts of South Africa working with our clients, as our Electrical & Mechanical Field Service Technician. You will work with our Electrical Projects Manager and the Sales Department to ensure communication flow from the customer site to JBT Head office.

On a given day, you may:

• On site electrical wiring checks, electrical and mechanical fault finding and mechanical adjustments to machines; you will also perform mechanical servicing of different equipment.
• Fault finding on digital sensors, (Proximity, Pressure, Flow).
• Fault finding on analog sensors, (Flow, Pressure, Temperature).
• Test pneumatic valves, proportional and ON/OFF.
• Test digital and analog sensors to PLC.
• Follow electrical drawing to fault find and report to department head.
• Test electrical equipment to find faulty part.
• Standby for new commissioning equipment for final stage.

Requirements for the role

• Diploma/Certificate Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent.
• 3-5 years technical experience on fault finding.
• Knowledge in the field of food processing / industrial manufacturing (2-4 years) useful.
• Read and also understand electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Calm when handling disputes and emergencies and must be service-oriented to handle and resolve issues by being organised.

Travel & Location

• Travel (Nationally): approx. 50% of the time.
