Job Description
- Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Finance Accountant: Statutory & Account Management to join the Finance team at CCBA.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Accurate Statutory Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for Ikageng and Mintirho to the Group Office, in compliance with statutory requirements. Prepare specialised financial statement notes to ensure completeness and audit readiness for group companies. Prepare and review trial balances, notes and annual financial statements for group companies in compliance with statutory requirements.
Transaction Governance and Documentation
- Approve and record transactions in ERP systems in line with RACM requirements. Review the month-end trial balance for Ikageng Employee Share Trust (Ikageng) and CCBSA Mintirho Foundation Trust (Mintirho) as part of the GL close process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Audit Preparedness and Risk Mitigation
- Facilitate statutory audits by providing documentation and evidence to Corporate Audit Division and external auditors and implement corrective action plans based on findings.
Trust administration, oversight and Board support
- Implement and co-ordinate all activities of the trusts and funds in accordance with the requirements in the respective trust documents including compilation and review of Board and committee packs.
Budgeting and Financial Advisory
- Prepare, present and support the annual budgeting process for the trusts, providing financial insights and analysis to the board of trustees.
Dividend and Beneficiary Administration
- Manage and review monthly headcount reconciliations, dividend calculations and payment processing for Ikageng, ensuring alignment with the trust deed requirements.
Governance and Reporting Compliance
- Update and maintain RACM narratives, conduct quarterly self-assessments and support stock counts and impairment reviews to ensure accurate reporting and governance.
Process Enhancement and Technical Coaching
- Drive continuous improvement of statutory reporting processes, drive implementation of new accounting standards and coach stakeholders on statutory compliance practices.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
- Com.Hons Degree in Accounting or Financial Management (required)
- Chartered Accountant of South Africa – CA(SA) (required)
Experience
- 4-5 years post-qualification experience in financial management
- Experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation (advantageous)
- Trust accounting or employee share trust administration is advantageous
- Exposure to RACM and audit compliance frameworks
Skills
- Deep understanding of group reporting, consolidation and preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Deep understanding of IFRS and financial statement disclosures.
- Ability to identify anomalies in financial data, investigate root causes and propose corrective actions.
- Familiarity with internal controls frameworks (RACM), audit processes and risk mitigation strategies.
- High level of precision in transaction reviews, reconciliations and statutory reporting processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with both internal teams (e.g., Tax, Procurement) and external auditors and trustees.
- Proactive in identifying reporting inefficiencies and contributing to process redesign initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage workloads and meet tight month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for board pack preparation, audit liaison and stakeholder engagement.
