Finance Graduate (Gauteng) at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

• The purpose of a graduate programme is to develop recently qualified graduates into skilled, competent professionals by providing structured workplace exposure, practical experience, mentorship, and training. The successful incumbent will gain exposure in various areas of the finance function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting (under relevant finance team supervision)

• Assist managers/accountants with financial reports, other reporting requirements and financial analysis.
• Assist with finance process flow documentation and the development of policies and procedures.
• Support month-end and year-end deadlines and process financial transactions before month-end closure.
• Resolve divisional queries.
• Prepare supporting schedules, variance analyses and commentary for management reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and the collection, validation and consolidation of financial information.
• Extract, organise and analyse data from finance systems and spreadsheets, flagging unusual trends or exceptions for review.
• Prepare assigned balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, maintain supporting evidence and follow up reconciling items within agreed timelines.

Governance and Continuous Improvement

• Participate in finance process-improvement and system initiatives, including testing and documentation.
• Assist with the annual internal and external audit.
• Assist with quality review of financial statements.

Record Keeping

• Assist the finance team with document management on OneDrive, SharePoint and other finance related systems.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• BCom Finance/ Accounting Degree or relevant equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• No formal work experience required.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Ability to implement basic accounting principles including IFRS.
• Basic knowledge of VAT principles.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Detail-orientated.
• Deadline driven.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must not have participated in a Graduate Programme.
• Must be willing to relocate nationally when required.
• South African Citizen.
