Job Description

• A well-established mining company is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to manage and control the full financial function, ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, and provide accurate financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage the company’s overall financial function and internal controls
• Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
• Compile annual budgets and monitor performance against approved budgets
• Analyse budget and cost variances and support management decision-making
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and IFRS
• Manage the year-end process and external audits
• Perform and oversee cost accounting, cost allocation, and cost variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with all tax legislation, including VAT submissions and liaison with SARS
• Ensure compliance with all HSEQ legislation, policies, and procedures
• Oversee debtors, creditors, and payroll functions
• Control and safeguard company assets
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team
• Drive effective cost control and optimal utilisation of resources
• Build and maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships

Requirements 

• BCom Honours Degree
• Minimum of 5 years’ financial experience at middle management level
• Strong knowledge of financial principles and financial reporting standards
• Working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, Companies Act, Corporate Governance, and Tax legislation
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting
• Intermediate computer literacy
• Knowledge of production processes and plant operations, preferably within mining or heavy industry
• Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
• Proven leadership and people management capability
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities
