Financial Accountant Contract at Mimecast

You will already be experienced from time spent in a Financial Accountant role and have a positive “can do” attitude with proven experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You must be exceedingly well organized, possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working independently, relying on your own self-motivation and skills.

Core Responsibilities

• Accounting including specific accountability for;
• Billing, Accounts Receivable and Revenue
• Accounts Payable & Treasury
• Payroll and compensation
• Fixed Assets (GAAP & Tax)
• Accruals and prepayments
• Financial reporting
• Monthly preparation & review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Monthly preparation & review of Actual vs Forecast analysis
• Monthly & Quarterly preparation & review of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet Variance analysis

• Compliance & Audit
• Quarterly preparation & review of inter-office reporting
• Quarterly preparation and support for US GAAP audit
• Quarterly preparation and support for controls base audit “Sarbanes Oxley”
• Annual preparation and support for statutory Audit
• Assist in developing junior accounting staff and managing team deadlines
• Participation in special projects within the Finance team to drive automation and scalability
• Additional duties as required to support the Finance Manager & Finance Director
   

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

The Successful Candidate Must

• Have a solid Accounting ‘GAAP’ and Audit background
• Be deadline driven
• Have strong analytical skills
• Have a good appreciation for business levers that drive profitability
   

Qualifications

• SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or similar accreditation
• Minimum 5 years accounting and auditing experience
• Knowledge of systems:
• CRM/ERP/Accounting systems with specific knowledge in one of the following: Netsuite, Pastel, SAP, Syspro, or Microsoft equivalent
• Advanced Excel (essential)
• US GAAP & Sarbanes Oxley knowledge will be an advantage
• Experience working for a Public company will be an advantage
• Experience of working with an annuity based revenue model will be an advantage
