Financial Accountant (Contract, Portuguese Speaking Person Required) at IQbusiness

Purpose: 

• Responsible for month-end processes, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Responsible for COGNOS and VAT submissions.
• To ensure accurate financial records concerning reporting both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

• To facilitate COGNOS submissions timeously on a monthly basis.
• Close off General Ledger and integrate timeously.
• Ensure the integrity of Master Data within the General Ledger.
• Preparation of the VAT return and IT14SD within the allocated timeframe.
• Preparation of monthly treasuring confirmation.
• Pull monthly IDU reports and ensure the accuracy thereof before submission to Business Unit owners.
• Prepare business budget and forecast submissions ensuring that they are submitted within the timeframe and ensuring accuracy of the data being submitted.
• Assist with the preparation of the internal and external audit process.
• To keep abreast on legal and regulatory issues relating to accounting matters.

Education:

• Must have a BCompt or equivalent degree

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience in an accounting environment.
• Must be able to speak and/or understand Portuguese. 
• Must possess a working knowledge of Syspro.
• Must possess strong financial experience and skills and be able to deliver under pressure.
• Must be able to work independently and within a team.
• Must be able to travel and work in the office
