Financial Accountant at MECS (Pty) Ltd

• Our client is seeking to employ a Financial Accountant with 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role and with experience and knowledge of SAP
• Education required:
• BCom (Accounting/Financial management)
• Preferably Completed CA(SA) Articles / CIMA articles (verified relevant work-based practical experience)
• Knowledge/exposure to CAMS/EFT payment systems (ABSA)
• Knowledge/exposure to One Stream /Hyperion reporting systems will be advantageous

General responsibilities include:

• Responsible for cost control and the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the business.
• To provide an analysis into the performance and financial position of the business and to provide financial information to the various functions, enabling budgeting and investment decisions.
• The accounting and financial activities will include reporting on costs, productivity, margins, and company expenditures.
• The accountant is also responsible for the provision of monthly reports (profit and loss as well as balance sheet) in accordance with group guidelines and timescales.
• Balance sheet recons
• Payroll maintenance and management
• Completion of statutory returns
• Fixed asset register - maintenance and recons
• Cashbook recons
• Journals
