The Role

We’re seeking a strong Financial Accountant / Senior Accountant at a well established Medium-Large sized Wholesale and Distribution company based in Germiston. This role is a great opportunity for an ambitious and recently qualified AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) to gain some managerial experience with strong guidance and mentorship. The candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will manage the Debtors & Creditors clerks. The candidate will need to have a keen interest in detail and ensure that the reporting is done meticulously while creating room for growth by seeking out more opportunities to add value.

Basic Roles & Responsibilities

• Take ownership of and review the Bookkeeping function, from General Ledger to Trial Balance level.
• Help the Finance Manager in preparing the reporting packs
• Help the Finance Manager in creating, documenting and implementing financial controls
• Lead a small team of debtor & creditor clerks, providing training and review of their work.

Ideal Candidate

• Completed 3 years of SAICA or SAIPA articles (Required)
• Eligible to register as an AGA (SA) or PA (SA)  (Preferred)
• 2+ years of post article experience in commerce roles
• High performing and output-driven candidate
