Financial Accountant- Stellenbosch at Snatch.work

• We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a growing group of companies in the healthcare and services space based in Stellenbosch. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean, hands-on environment and wants the opportunity to grow into a Financial Manager position in the near future.
• Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll work across three entities, managing day-to-day finance operations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting, while building the foundation for stepping into a broader leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers across multiple companies
• Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, budgets, and forecasts
• Manage VAT, PAYE, WCA, 501 recons, and other statutory submissions
• Liaise with auditors and ensure audit readiness
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and cashflow management
• Implement and improve financial systems and processes
• Provide insights to operational teams to support business decisions
• Supervise junior finance staff and take ownership of the function in the CFO’s absence

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Registered Professional Accountant, or AGA(SA), or part qualified CIMA preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related
• 1-2 years’ experience in accounting/finance, ideally across multiple entities
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS for SMEs, and statutory compliance
• Proficiency in Sage, Xero, or similar accounting systems + advanced Excel skills
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and hands-on with the ability to multitask
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a lean structure
• Ambition to step into a leadership/management role
