Financial Accountant at The Automobile Association

The Role

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing a specialised service to the Finance Division, which will involve system process and control analysis and design. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to the ever-changing service demands placed on the Finance Division. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for enhancing the level of service provided by the Finance Division. The incumbent will be involved in evaluating and assisting with the running of the Division and ensure that the Division continually meets the changing requirements of the internal as well as external customers of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Annual financial statements.
• Consolidate financial information between various business ventures and units.
• Administration related to statutory requirements e.g. audits, tax etc.
• Assisting with the monthly General Ledger reconciliations.
• Complete monthly reconciliation’s as per area.
• Assisting with accounts receivable and fixed asset administration.
• Assisting with product costing.
• Assisting with preparation of budget and forecast, as well as business planning.
• Assisting with monthly performance reports, reviews and analysis.
• Assisting with the refining or enhancing of financial reports on an ongoing basis.
• Authorisation of Payments.
• Initiating, investigating, evaluating and making recommendations with regard to various financial and administrative projects.
• Designing practical controls and procedures for implementation throughout the organisation.

Qualifications

• Registered CA with SAICA.
