Financial Manager/Controller at SUMMIT Africa Recruitment

Job Description;

The successful applicant will be answerable for all financial control aspects of the business to the CFO. You will form part of a team to establish and implement control frameworks, system upgrades and enhancements, implement value-added reporting, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, coordinate and participate in projects, and make some of the critical decisions in the finance department.

 Some Responsibilities Include;

• Develop financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressed 
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
• Oversee and review of management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance
• Coordinate the development and monitoring of budget on an annual basis in coordination with various departments
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed
• Ensure accuracy of statistics for onward submission to government / regulatory authorities/ agencies etc.

Your Skills and Experience;

• Qualification – Bcom/Accounting qualification
• CA (SA)
• At least 2-3 years post articles experience as a financial manager/financial controller
• Strong Excel skills
• Analytical ability
• Preferably big 4 Articles
• Ability to function effectively in an entrepreneurial environment
• Experience working with Xero advantageous
• Experience working within a scale-up/fintech environment – advantageous
