    Financial Manager

    • A leading agrochemical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Financial Manager (based in South Africa) to ensure that the financial strategy, policies, processes, and budgets support the overall strategic direction of their business in Malawi.

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a CA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification
    • Minimum 8-10 years’ relevant financial experience
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience at management level
    • Sound knowledge of SYSPRO or SAP systems (or ERP systems in general) is essential
    • Must have in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or equivalent, as well as financial policies, procedures, and processes
    • Advanced business report writing skills are required
    • Must be willing to travel to Malawi when required

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Possessing sound knowledge of the regulatory, statutory, and compliance frameworks affecting the area of responsibility.
    • Controlling transactions and ensuring segregation of duties on Syspro.
    • Managing data integrity.
    • Ensuring completeness and balancing of transactions within acceptable accounting principles.
    • Handling receivables, managing cashbooks, processing payables, and overseeing inventory.
    • Maintaining the general ledger.
    • Ensuring systems and procedures are in place and being adhered to in line with the internal control matrix as per group requirements and delegation of authority.
    • Handling audits, including tax audits, internal audits, and external audits.
    • Generating working capital reports, statutory reports, and operational reports.
    • Comparing budgeted and actual expenses.
    • Being responsible for the expense budget and building up the final budget, balanced with the balance sheet.
