Finished Goods Inventory and Dispatch Controller at Salt South Africa

About the Role

• The Finished Goods Inventory & Dispatch Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate movement of stock from production to warehouse storage and onward to local and international destinations. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating dispatch activities, managing warehouse locations, and ensuring stock availability aligns with shipping forecasts and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management

• Process and record daily stock transfers from Production to Finished Goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the Inventory Management System.
• Manage warehouse bin and racking locations across multiple product ranges.
• Ensure all stock movements and delivery documentation are completed accurately and stored correctly.
• Maintain 100% inventory data integrity and stock visibility.

Dispatch & Logistics Coordination

• Plan and coordinate the distribution of finished goods to domestic, international, and internal destinations.
• Monitor shipping forecasts and proactively prepare stock to meet shipment deadlines.
• Coordinate physical and system stock movements to ensure efficient dispatch operations.
• Support logistics planning and fulfilment activities across multiple locations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production teams to monitor stock availability and production output.
• Liaise with Procurement to ensure packaging materials and auxiliary stock are available for upcoming shipments.
• Act as the link between Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
• Communicate inventory status and urgent priorities effectively across departments.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in dispatch coordination.
• Strong experience using Inventory Management Systems, ERP, or WMS platforms.
• Experience managing inventory across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of logistics planning, freight, and shipping coordination.
• Experience optimising warehouse layouts, bin locations, and racking systems.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
