Finishing Technician - Midrand at Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Job Description

• Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Finishing Technician for their Head Office.
• Executes finishing tasks across printed marketing materials, ensuring all items are accurately cut, assembled, packed, and prepared for distribution.
• Plays a critical role in ensuring materials are production-ready and delivered in line with campaign and promotional timelines across the Dis-Chem ecosystem.

Minimum Requirements…
Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 1+ years’ experience in print production, finishing, warehousing, or manufacturing
• Experience working in high-volume, deadline-driven environments
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices

Responsibilities

Planning and task preparation

• Receive and prepare printed materials for finishing according to job specifications
• Organise materials based on priority, campaign timelines, and distribution requirements
• Understand job instructions to ensure correct finishing approach per item

Execution and finishing operations

• Perform cutting, trimming, folding, packing, bundling, and assembly of materials
• Ensure correct quantities and grouping of materials per store or distribution requirement
• Handle materials carefully to avoid damage or wastage
• Work with relevant clerks to sort stock in order to assist in checking process 

Stakeholder alignment and team collaboration

• Work closely with the Finishing Team Lead to meet production deadlines
• Coordinate with Production and Distribution teams to ensure smooth handover of completed materials.
• Communicate any issues or delays impacting output

Governance and quality control

• Check finished materials for accuracy, neatness, and completeness
• Ensure adherence to job specifications, quantities, and packaging requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

• Familiarity with print finishing processes (cutting, packing, assembly).
• Ability to follow job instructions and production specifications accurately
• Strong attention to detail with ability to work under pressure
• Understanding of the importance of accuracy and timelines in retail promotions
