Fixed Assets Clerk at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• The successful incumbent will have the responsibility to maintain accurate, reliable records within SAP fixed asset registers and control the fixed assets additions and disposals for Rainbow Farms (Pty) Ltd, RCL Group Services (Pty) Ltd, and further Group companies as required.

Minimum Requirements    

•  Grade 12 / Matric.
•  Diploma Risk Management / Finance or other relevant qualification.
•  1 – 3 years relevant experience.
•  Experience handing insurance claims and / or working in a financial environment would be desirable.
•  MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) competence essential.
•  SAP Experience would be an advantage.
•  Ability to take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and
•  Can demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.
•  Ability to follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
•  Manage colleagues and client’s expectations and communicate appropriately.
•  Must demonstrate the ability to problem solve effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities    

•  To maintain accurate, reliable SAP fixed asset records and registers.
•  Fixed Asset Life Cycle Administration (Create / Transfer / Retirement).
•  Create investment projects for release by the Fixed Asset Accountant.
•  Create / Maintain Vehicle WBS elements.
•  Capitalise completed projects and retire sold/redundant assets once checked by Asset Controller and authorised by the Fixed Assets Accountant.
•  Post intra-company transfers based on authorised documentation.
•  Prepare and distribute fixed asset schedules for physical verification and useful life assessment of the Group’s fixed assets by operations.
•  Ensure signed, authorised physical verifications are received back from all relevant operations.
•  Follow up on documentation required to action amendments resulting from the physical verification.
•  Insurance administration.
•  Assist the Fixed Asset Controller / Accountant with compilation of information for any fixed asset reports required.
•  File and safeguard records within area of responsibility.
•  Capture data accurately and regularly onto SAP to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.
•  Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
•  Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.
•  Participate in, and drive regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.
