    Flavors and NCBs Marketing Manager

    Job Description

The incumbent selected for the role will continue to be based out of their current location. Preferred location is: Pakistan and South Africa.
    Responsible for leading brand growth strategy for a portfolio of Beverage brands within the PepsiCo Africa, Middle East, South Asia (AMESA) sector, driving profitable growth via scoping out opportunities, identifying big bets, prioritizing campaigns and innovations. Support Business Units (BUs) in driving Brand Volume, Net Revenue, Share growth and Brand Equity KPIs by leading assigned Beverages brands across the sector. This also includes managing internal cross-functional teams, global brand teams, external creative agencies, partnership with insights & commercialization. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have a close pulse on consumer trends, competitive activity, category developments and sales information.

    Key Accountabilities For The Role Include

    • Custodian of the brand strategy develop a deep and actionable understanding the category, it’s growth drivers/levers and how to successfully deploy by market stage of development.
    • Lead Medium to Long Term Strategy for assigned portfolio of brands including 24 Month Planning Calendar development for key BUs and 3-5-year strategic planning in close partnership with key relevant stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain a knowledge base of global best practice across the marketing mix, building strong relationships with partner Regions, Sectors & the Global Teams.
    • Adopt a Lift, Learn & Adapt mindset to ensure the best ideas across the World are understood in the Key BUs and adopted where appropriate.
    • Build and deploy a sharp differentiated and consumer resonant brand architecture for the brand and its extensions (by market stage of development)
    • Drive brand Net Revenue and Market Share growth via strong strategic thinking and where applicable, lead key workstreams to deliver gold-standard equity or innovation initiatives
    • Lead the development & evolution of the brand positioning & communication within global guardrails. Ensure resonance across different markets and segments through sharp understanding of the regional/local market pulse.
    • Collaborate with Brand leader on the communications/branding of the initiatives to ensure:
    • Lead key Big Bet projects, build Teams and drive the deliverables.
    • Maintain equity building brand guardrails
    • Support in development on assigned Brands (thematic / platform / consumer engagement / campaigns) including localization of Global content on global brands.
    • Ensure the right channel mix and campaign plans to optimize target consumer reach.
    • Create a Roadmap for the brand to drive Penetration. Leveraging the marketing mix across consumer touch points.
    • Shape and deliver innovation plans to drive strong growth. Support BU’s with adequate and appropriate ammunition to deliver Annual targets.
    • Partner with insights to closely monitor brand equity, share, launch KPIs and ensure robust tracking of key programs. Track brand health continuously and ensure timely correctives basis inputs.
    • Work closely with insights to build a robust track that ensures early pick up on key brand drivers for growth and against plans. Deliver strong consumer and trade relevant concepts for input into the planning process, aligning stakeholders and working with agency partners across creative, media, R&D and Packaging Teams.
    • Partner with commercialization and R&D to develop winning innovation concepts and flavours (based on agreed project leadership).
       

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Innovation/ New Product launches
    • Project Management/ Leadership
    • Consumer Insights – creating and leveraging. To include in-depth knowledge of insight-creating tools.
    • Ability to create short, medium- and long-term brand plans, based on sound insights and the right analysis
    • Ability to understand/evaluate brand economics and P&L’s
    • Fair knowledge of sales cycle and plan
    • Ability to understand the technical side of the brands – from an operational and R&D perspective
    • Good knowledge of agencies work structure, roles and responsibilities

    Education:

    • BA / MBA Degree Business Administration/Marketing/IMC/economics or equivalent from a reputable university

    Prior Work Experience: Preferable if the incumbent has:

    • In depth Marketing Experience in top FMCG
    • Preferably worked in multi-country/ regional brand leadership roles

    Problem Solving:

    • Optimizing project outcomes while balancing conflicting needs
    • Managing complex interrelated tasks involving diverse parties & ensuring timely alignment
    • Act as the interface between technical and commercial/ local & global teams and working on resolving conflicts for the best interest of the business

    Innovation:

    • Capable of leading E2E Innovation projects for new launches.
    • Able to recommend strategically how we should expand our Portfolio.
       

    Skills & Abilities

    • Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret complex data and distil into useful and actionable information
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively across all levels and all functions of the organization – working within a matrix structure
    • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with & influence Global Groups/Teams, Senior Management, Suppliers, Agencies, etc…
    • Excellent leadership skills to be able to lead project teams, agencies, suppliers, and cross functional teams
    • Excellent project management skills covering product & process development within FMCG environment (including ability to succinctly define project aims, work to a defined timeline, communicate project progress to stakeholders
