FMCG Area Manager: Johannesburg, Gauteng at FS Personnel Recruitment

Desired experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a team leader/management role within the packaging or related industry.
• Strong understanding of sales, customer relationships and team performance.
• Experience managing and developing a sales/customer-facing team will be highly advantageous.
• Coaching and mentoring mindset.
• Occasional overnight stays required

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Manage the assigned region and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Communicate client feedback, costing, competitor information and sales strategies.
• Monitor credit notes, profits and losses, and identify opportunities to recover lost business.
• Lead, supervise and motivate Customer Care Consultants to achieve monthly targets and KPIs.
• Ensure adherence to call cycles and effective communication with clients, store owners and internal departments.
• Coach, develop and onboard team members to maximise performance and potential.
• Conduct weekly KPI reviews and joint client/store visits.
• Maintain a 6–8-week call cycle with VIP clients and key stakeholders.
• Resolve team and customer disputes professionally.
• Encourage teamwork, accountability and a high-performance culture.
• Report changes, challenges and requirements to the Regional Sales Manager.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
