Foreman: Boiler Shop - Malelane at RCL Foods

RCL FOODS is searching for a Foreman: Boiler Shop to join our Engineering team at our Sugar Business Unit in Malelane. The role will be reporting to the Engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively manage the Boiler Shop whilst keeping plant and equipment maintenance costs within budget constraints.
• Manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team focussing on boiler making and welding.
• Setting up of planned maintenance standards and schedules.
• Compiling and controlling expenditure on maintenance and operational and capital budgets.
• Provide technical input for setting up and optimisation of the plant performance.
• Maintain LTA below set targets.
• Functionally contribute to maintaining the integrity of the electrical and instrumentation infrastructure.
• Participate in planning of stop day tasks, off crop tasks, projects and ensure effective implementation.
• Maintain and update technical data drawings of plant equipment.
• Adhere to maintenance procedures to mitigate risk of plant breakdowns.
• Ensure that equipment, materials and rotables are available for factory performance.
• Manage departments recruitment, training and discipline, absences, leave, overtime etc.
• Report and investigate all accidents, incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Minimum Requirements

• N2 Trade theory plus trade test certificate in Boiler Making.
• Proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme is essential.
• Minimum of five years post trade certification, as a trade tested Artisan Boilermaker.
• Supervisory Experience would be a distinct advantage.
• MS Office (Excel - intermediate; Word – intermediate; Outlook – intermediate)
• SAP Module (PM)
• Must be able to produce high quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of the Sugar Manufacturing process and Equipment would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Knowledge of SHE procedures, budgeting, and cost control.
