BASIC SALARY R 502 420.80 – R 612 151.08 per annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12;
• National Trade Certificate 3 – Trade Test for Electrical;
• Wireman’s licence;
• Valid Driver’s License; and
• 3 years’ experience.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Contributes to various professional engineering functions. Some degree of independence but seeks strategic guidance as required; and could assists superiors in providing specialist advice to clients;
• Participates in planning by compiling, collating information from research, surveys and studies;
• Analyses information to support feasibility studies and the requirements of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and the Growth and Development Strategy (GDS);
• Participates in the compilation of feasibility studies for complex engineering problems and projects;
• Understands and can communicate the Municipality’s priorities and goals;
• In-depth knowledge of municipality’s policies and procedures;
• Ability to scrutinise own work and that of others to ensure accuracy and compliance with the relevant engineering standards;
• Participates in investigations and feasibility studies;
• Participates in the design of complex infrastructure elements and processes under supervision;
• Participates in the compilation of engineering drawings and maintains records for infrastructure; and Participates in the compilations of scopes of work, estimates, tender and contract documents for infrastructure, under supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect all new and altered installations and check metering installations. This applies to new connections, upgrades, downgrades, generators and SSEG installations;
• Do specialised meter readings;
• Check all audit sheets and physical audits in the field. Perform specialised audits in person;
• Audit all meter installations and all relevant metering equipment (residential);
• Assist clients with all technical data – interview clients regarding tempering
