    Fraud Analyst (Analytics)

    Job Summary

    • Join the Fraud Strategy team within Absa RBB where you will be responsible for supporting fraud strategies by using data analytics and predictive modelling techniques. This includes profiling genuine customers and fraudsters, as well as performing behavioral analytics on both populations.

    Job Description

    Key responsibilities:

    • Defining normal behavior of customers as well as defining out of the norm behaviour of customers by means of deviation of normal behaviour.
    • Define fraudulent behaviour based on known fraud cases.
    • Develop features based on normal / out of norm behaviour / fraudulent behaviour.
    • Provide additional features to rule engines for consumption.
    • Develop analytical based solution to address risks that are not adequately addressed by fraud rule engines.
    • Develop models to predict probability of fraud using predictive modelling / machine learning techniques.
    • Provide risk-based scores to supplement rule-based analytics.
    • Provide risk-based scores to address complex relationships present in fraud data.

    Minimum requirements:

    • BSc Degree in Mathematics or Statistics or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
    • At least 3 years’ experience in analytical environment
    • Advanced SAS Programming, especially macros
    • Python knowledge and experience will be preferred

    Education

    • Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
