    Fraud and Risk Data Analyst

    What will you do?

    • Santam Direct have a career opportunity available for a Fraud and Risk Data Analyst base in Cape Town, Bellville. The Fraud and Risk Data Analyst role will monitor and track performances within the business, to identify any risk and/or leakage, which may prevent the overall business to achieve profitable growth and other required targets and outcomes set for the year and beyond as per Santam Direct future fit strategy.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • To provide the Strategic Data Manager and other business areas with data analytical outcomes using the SAS Viya, SAS, Business objects, Qlikview and Qliksense, with a specific focus on data driven findings and outcomes, for quicker and effective decision making, improved risk control identification, with the main focus on profitable and sustainable growth of Santam Direct. This role will work closely with the Santam Direct Management team, Strategic Data team, Underwriting, Claims functions & Actuarial to develop and maintain data sets, performing predictive analysis, mitigating any risk trends by using the SAS Viya visual tool effectively and other relevant systems. This role will further assist with automation specifications to reports which can be automated.


    •     A completed Business Science or Bcom degree with Mathematics or Statistics as majors 
    •     SAS (preferential)
    •     Qlikview and Qliksense experience
    •     Minimum of 5 years Short Term Insurance experience (Direct Insurance preferred)
    •     Experience with Fraud Investigation advantageous
    •     Experience working with client administration systems (Mainframe and PC) and data warehousing  
    •     Strong data management skills 
    •     Logical and analytical ability

    •     Sound understanding of the Santam Direct processes and procedures
