Gathering Unit Operator at Novus Holdings Ltd

Job Description    

• Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a diligent individual with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Gathering Unit Operator in the Bindery Department. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Leader.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions
• Follow all relevant SOP’s and ensure that quality control checklists are completed
• Ensure that finished products meet quality standards
• Set-up the bindery machine, gathering and trimming unit
• Efficiently handle the gathering process to optimize production
• Receive and examine books and other items to be bound
• Determine the type of binding required according to the work ticket
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and/or adjustments
• Maintain daily production records
• Basic preventative operator maintenance 
• Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
• Adhoc general assistance on all machines

Educational Requirements    

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent 

Experience Requirements    

• 2-3 Years working as a gathering unit operator or similar will be advantageous      
• 1 to 2 years’ experience within a Bindery environment 
• Previous experience within a FMCG environment
