GCC Engineer at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Mining GCC (Government Certificate of Competency)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently within set targets.
• People management & communication skills.
• Registered with DMRE as a mentor (advantageous)
• A minimum of four years supervisory / management experience within Quarrying environment.
• Knowledge and experience of maintenance planning and cost center control.
• Sound multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge and experience associated with electrical, electronic, mechanical, and structural infrastructure and systems
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and engineering principles in heavy machinery industry.
• Good knowledge and experience of overall plant processes and operational systems.
• Technical knowledge required for in-depth Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
• Diagnosing, analyzing, and reporting skills.
• Process, plant and equipment optimization. Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

• Legal appointment as 2.13.1 Competent Engineer for Ridgeview Quarry & Tongaat Quarry.
• Ensure compliance by conducting oversight inspections on the following areas: Lifting equipment and machinery, Workshop Stores with hazardous chemicals and oil storage areas, Diesel Installations and dispensing facilities, Machine Guarding, Electrical
• Installations: MCC’s, Transformers, Structural Integrity: Design, Installation, Repair,
• Removal and Replacement, On Site Traffic Management Systems.
