Job Description

• Fantastic opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced  professional to join a global leader in logistics and warehousing, to control and manage local  SA operational functions, reporting to the global Group headquarters. Must be strong on project management, staff leadership and functional area multitasking. The successful candidate will work as a right hand to the MD, and provide support across all operations, financial, compliance and reporting aspects.
• Due to our client’s rapid growth in the sector in SA, and given the scope of the role, we require an executive leader with strong analytical skills, experience dealing with international parent companies, and a solid understanding of the South African regulatory environment. Based in Umbilo, Durban, this role coordinates main business areas between the local entity and the Group, overseeing  the following core responsibilities:
• Corporate Reporting: Managing and streamlining all financial and operational reporting
• Legal & Compliance: Overseeing corporate legal matters and ensuring local compliance, working with the Group legal team, including claims management and other insurance issues
• Commercial Control: Reviewing, validating and controlling commercial offers and contracts
• Financial Controlling: Acting as the financial and operational controller for local operations

PROFILE:

• Relevant commercial and management qualifications + MINIMUM10 years’ experience at a senior management level
• Strong track record in multi-project environment, including operational coordination
• Legal understanding wrt contracts etc.
• Ideally some experience within a logistics entity, and exposure to land and seafreight (import/export)
