• This role exists to assist in the general duties on site

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleaning of screens, grit channels, anoxic, aeration, clarifier, chlorine contact channel & sump basins
• Testing and recording MLSS, DSVI, RAS, SS, PH, DO, free & total chlorine, flow meter reading, screens, grit, & breakdowns
• Removing all dry sludge from drying beds & all other wastes
• Housekeeping – making the workplace clean.
• General inspection on (hand tools, PPE, machinery, buildings, equipment and work area). Report any defects and breakdown observed
• Sampling
• Compliance to the SHEQ System
• Do toolbox talk, risk assessment, PTOs and safety meetings
• Check chlorine dosing and stock available

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of one to five years’ experience working in a water and wastewater treatment environment

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILTIES REQUIRED

• Good communication (verbal and written)
• Good planning and organising
• Teamwork and observant
• Listening

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass the mine’s criminal screening process
• May be expected to work rotating shifts
• May be required to work overtime from time to time
• Physical, mental and medical fit
