Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough geological assessments of coal deposits to determine quality, quantity, and distribution.
• Plan and execute geological surveys, including mapping, sampling, and logging of coal drill cores.
• Coordinate and supervise field operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Analyze geological data, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for resource development and extraction techniques.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and optimize coal mine plans, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing resource recovery.
• Evaluate exploration data and interpret geological models to identify potential coal targets and new mining areas.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing mining operations, providing technical guidance on geological aspects of coal extraction.
• Stay updated with industry developments and technological advancements in coal geology, applying relevant knowledge to enhance operations and improve efficiency.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets, resource estimates, and environmental impact assessments.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with local and national regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in coal geology, with a focus on exploration, resource evaluation, and geological modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of coal depositional environments, geologic formations, and mining techniques.
• Proficiency in geological software and data analysis tools such as GIS, geostatistics, and mine planning software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Sound understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to travel to various project sites, both domestically and internationally, as required.
