If you are a young emerging professional, either a current student or a recent graduate, in the field of Planning, Geomatics, Environmental and Geographical Science, Urban Design Or Architecture, and you’re looking for an opportunity to start you career in the urban solutions space, this role is for you. We are looking for a creative and dynamic intern to join the Management and Sustainability Market’s Urban Solutions team in Cape Town. Our team is passionate about providing solutions to urban issues across Africa and the Middle East, and we are passionate about finding inventive solutions for creating functional cities for people. A keenness to learn and a willingness to jump in to assist the broader team are attributes that are sought for this role.
Role responsibilities:
Provide data management support and general assistance on projects
Work in spatial applications such as ArcGIS / ESRI applications / QGIS to assist with project deliverables
Conduct online research to inform and support project outputs
Conduct basic spatial analysis and produce narratives for projects as required
Minimum requirements:
In the process of completing / having completed a diploma / degree in planning, geomatics, environmental and geographical science, urban design or architecture
Demonstrated competency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in spatial applications (GIS, etc) would be advantageous
A clear drive to both learn and work hard with the team to deliver on projects
