The Global Conflicts Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the review, identification and resolution of potential conflicts issues with respect to clients, matters, and new business under applicable rules of professional responsibility and the Firm’s global policies.
Responsibilities
Assist Global Head of Conflicts and Global Conflicts Manager with the process of conflict checking for new clients and matters across a diverse range of jurisdictions.
Provide a thorough and timely analysis of all new business endeavors to identify any ethical and business conflicts of interest.
Support and resolve general conflict issues and cross-regional conflicts, maintaining thorough and accurate records to ensure database integrity.
Utilize available internal and external databases and other such resources to supplement analysis and assist with decision making.
Support the Global Conflicts Manager in evaluating and implementing improvements to enhance the operations of the Global Conflicts Team.
Proactively communicate with department leadership on complex conflicts questions and other compliance issues.
Assist with training Global Conflicts Team members, legal administrative assistants, lawyers, and business services staff in understanding the firm's new matter intake and compliance procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet evolving position requirements.
Requirements
Hard skills
At least 2 years of experience in conflicts or a related field (such as AML, KYC, or compliance), preferably within an international law firm.
Minimum bachelor's degree, preferably in law or a related field.
Business-level proficiency in English, both written and oral.
Knowledge of Intapp conflict checking, ethical wall, and business intake software is preferred.
Strong legal research skills.
Extensive experience working with layers of engagement and approval.
