    Night Supervisor

    Description

    • Support Shift leaders and trouble shoot problems
    • Assess patient acuity
    • Liaise with NSM for additional resources that is required
    • Determine needs for the hospital as a whole
    • Manage, drive and monitor BCA bundles, SHEQ, IPC and Quality principles in the hospital
    • Co-ordinate and audit after-hour admissions, discharges, stock levels and medication levels
    • Responsible for issuing medication timeously from the emergency cupboard, as per the Medication Policies
    • Ensure that all departments in the hospital are emergency prepared
    • Audit patient files to positively contribute to billing and revenue

    Requirements

    Admissions Clerk - FTC

    Description

    • Manage the reception area and switchboard, maintaining continuous coverage.
    • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
    • Transfer calls to the required extensions and follow up on missed calls.

    Mechanical Artisan

    Description

    • Install and repair mechanical systems and equipment, including refrigeration, air conditioning, vacuum, medical gas, compressors, autoclaves, boilers, and hot and cold-water systems, in accordance with technical specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards.
    • Test and calibrate mechanical systems and equipment after installation or repair to verify proper functionality.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of plant rooms, equipment, and machinery in accordance with service schedules or as directed by the Supervisor or Manager, to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
    • Report on the condition, performance and functionality of the plant and machinery.
    • Plan and implement preventative maintenance activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Assist with the setup of mechanical infrastructure during facility expansions or upgrades.
    • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance to minimise downtime of critical hospital systems.
    • Monitor the quality of contractor work performed on hospital mechanical systems and equipment and report any deficiencies to the Technical Supervisor/Manager
    • Manufacture basic parts needed, using the available equipment and adhering to safe operating standards and limitations.
    • Ensure proper storage, usage and maintenance of all mechanical tools and machinery.
    • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures when performing maintenance work.
    • Maintain complete and accurate record-keeping for all maintenance work and services performed.
    • Perform ad-hoc duties as and when required.
    • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, fault finding and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with approved maintenance strategies, maintenance schedules, manufacturer requirements, statutory requirements and Melomed Technical standards.
    • Conduct routine condition checks on mechanical systems, plant and equipment, identify deterioration, abnormal operating conditions, recurring failures and potential technical risks, and report findings to the Technical Supervisor/Manager.
    • Accurately record maintenance activities within the approved maintenance management system, including faults identified, work performed, corrective actions, parts and materials used, equipment downtime and relevant asset condition information.
    •  Support asset identification and physical verification activities by confirming equipment information, location and condition, and report discrepancies or changes for updating in the asset and maintenance management system.
    •  Report recommendations for repair, refurbishment or replacement based on observed equipment condition, recurring failures or performance issues to the Technical Supervisor/Technical Manager for further assessment.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Trade Test Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
    • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous
    • Trade Test qualification in Electrical with Wireman’s licence would be advantageous
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar position
    • Experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently 
    • Knowledge and understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and safe work practices
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
    • Must be physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, or under pressure when required
    • Must be computer literate 
    • Must be available to work overtime, shifts, and / or be on standby as operationally required
    • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites, if required

    Human Resource Assistant

    Description

    • Manage the day-to-day HR administrative functions and provide assistance across all HR functions as needed.
    • Coordinate the recruitment process, from advertising vacancies, screening CVs, scheduling and attending interviews to conducting reference and verification checks.  
    • Ensure the efficient onboarding of new employees, including coordinating orientation and the preparation of the necessary documentation.
    • Compile HR metrics and reports, support audits, and assist in policy compliance and implementation.

    Final Biller

    Description

    • Final assessment of all patient files to ensure that all stock, service related charges are recorded on account as per actual usage and is billed according to the NHN guidelines and Melomed Policies and Procedures.
    • Final assessment of all patient files to ensure that all documentation is in file.
    • Assessment and monitoring of long stay patients for accuracy. Timeous final billing of claims to maintain the target of final billing.
    • Submission of WCA, COID claims to respective funders.
    • Timeous Escalation of cases within turnaround time where LOS, LOC and Codes are not approved to maintain the target of accurate final billing of files within 3 days.
    • Application of clinical knowledge in reviewing ICD and CPT coding of patient accounts.
    • Ensure that all claims are submitted timeously via the Medikredit Panel.
    • Timeous escalation of any Medikredit Rejections and maintain a high level of integrity of the Medikredit Panel.
    • Follow up with external service providers and stakeholders on outstanding documentation required for the accurate final billing of files to maintain the target of final billing.
    • Timeous resolution of queries from Credit Control emanating from final billed files to maintain targets and objectives.
    • Following up and resolving queries from internal and external customers and stakeholders.
    • Daily and weekly reports. Adherence to deadlines.
    • Administrative tasks.
    • Adhoc and administrative duties as requested by line manager.
    • Liaising with patients for queries. General filing.
    • Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and knowledge.

    Requirements

    Core Competencies:

    Education:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification
    • Proficiency in Computer Literacy

    • A Nursing qualification will be preferred

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a multidisciplinary hospital

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Computer Literacy Strong Administrative Skills Knowledge of Fixed Fees, per Diems and Alternate Reimbursement Models
    • Knowledge of applicable statutory acts such as Consumer Protection Act; PMB; POPIA, etc.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
