    Global Procurement Director: Oils CoE – AMESA & APAC

    Job Description

    This is a Location Flexible role within AMESA. The incumbent selected for the role will continue to be based out of their current location. Preferred locations: Egypt & South Africa.

    Responsiblities
    As a member of the Oils Center of Excellence (Oils CoE) the role will support Snacks businesses in Asia, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific (AMESA & APAC) and be responsible for

    • Development and execution of sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiations and contract management of edible oils
    • Oversee the sector contracting, forecasting, AOP development, productivity, and sourcing for the materials involved
    • Environmental, Social, Economic and Human Health goals for oils including low saturate fat launches for Saudi (Q4 2023), India & China (Q4 2024) and a progressive sustainable palm and oilseed agenda.
       

    Key Accountabilities For The Role Include

    • Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives for Vegetable Oils in AMESA and APAC, extending CoE strategies which are appropriate for the regions
    • Lead the AMESA & APAC vegetable oil field buyers to ensure contracts and purchase orders are negotiated to include required PepsiCo terms and conditions
    • Analyze suppliers’ capacity and develop robust supply chains, and business continuity plans to provide reliable delivery of oils to manufacturing operations, on time, on budget, at specification to support production and demand growth.
    • Deliver the annual productivity goals for AMESA and APAC vegetable oils category. Develop a robust pipeline of productivity and transformation ideas into appropriate productivity projects in time for annual operation plan (AOP) submissions to ensure delivery of the productivity targets.
    • Coordinate closely with the region and sector finance teams to align inflation and productivity assumptions with those projected by the CoE.
    • Lead product reformulation initiatives and develop and implement a strategy to ensure delivery of PepsiCo’s human health improvement goals
    • Provide support to regional based Market Supply Officers (MSOs) on supply issues in quality or logistics.
    • Maintain appropriate records and reporting processes to ensure compliance with PepsiCo and Global Procurement policies, including financial reporting, commodity risk management, productivity and sustainability.
       

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Key Skills/Experience Required:

    • 8+ years’ work experience in engineering, research & development, manufacturing, product supply, agriculture or purchasing
    • Degree in Agro Finance/Economics, Engineering, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
    • Experience working with logistics & supplier relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to analyze complex business scenarios, develop and evaluate actionable solutions and push through to completion and implementation
    • Ability to effectively communicate, interact and influence individuals from varying groups and levels including internal or external customers
    • English language proficiency required. Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Thai are advantaged
    • Strong project management skills
       

    Differentiating Competencies Required

    • International/ multinational experience a plus
    • Relevant experience in sourcing strategy development
    • Experience in using advanced sourcing methodologies/ tools
    • Experience in a regional procurement function/ company a plus
    • Significant experience in direct line management
    • Skilled in managing across a dispersed team of business stakeholders in different countries;
