Grade Control Officer - Shift at Anglo American

Job Description

As a Grade Control Officer, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and control the ore through effective quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with the required specifications.
• Guide Load & Haul to reduce ore loss and maximize gain through effective dig plan use.
• Ensure ore blending is carried out optimally to produce products that are within desired marketing specifications.
• Optimize stockpiling of ore according to correct dispatching and material booking
• Monitoring Modular Mining Dispatch system and correct allocation of ore loading and hauling resources
• Monitor performance of quality measurement systems. Utilize ore reserves effectively by optimizing ore blending.
• Manage a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
• Stop unsafe work practices.
• Keep environmental impact within statutory requirements to ensure compliance to statutory requirements is met.
• This is a role for a Grade Control Officer at a Band GBF 7/8 and is reporting to Grade Control Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• For internal candidates on Sishen – red permit required
• Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent NQF qualification
• Computer Literacy
• Competency-A and or Rock Breaking Certificate.
• Valid medical certificate

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years geology, mining, or plant experience relevant to Grade Control in the Iron Ore production,
• Supervisor or acting supervisor experience desired,
• Plant beneficiation knowledge and experience as supervisor (Iron ore) advantageous.
