Group Accountant – Newly Qualified CA(SA) at Salt South Africa

Purpose of the Role:

• The Group Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate financial reporting of the Global Creative Group. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with IFRS, performing monthly reconciliations, supporting external audits, contributing to the development of accounting policies and reporting tools, with an advantageous background in shared services.

• Newly Qualified CA(SA)
• Advantageous background in advertising/media audit clients.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• A team player with the ability to work independently.
• A curious, robust, and self-motivated individual with a drive for financial accounting discipline.
• A desire to improve end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes.
• Knowledge of the Media or Digital sectors is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Netsuite and Adaptive Insight is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting (70%):

• Monthly intercompany reconciliation, resolving mismatches before month-end close.
• Calculation of IFRS 16 lease journals and maintenance of the lease register.
• Preparation of monthly variance analysis templates and revenue reports.
• Review of non-complex entity reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
• Assistance in consolidation entries and preparation of monthly Group financial results.
• Support in developing new reporting formats and analytical tools.
• Preparation of interim and full-year Group statutory reporting and investor relations reports.
• Ad hoc analysis as required.

External Audit (30%):

• Collaboration with the external audit team to provide high-quality information.
• Ensuring timely completion of the audit with minimal differences.
