Job Description

• This position delivers full-function bookkeeping support within an established multi-entity environment. You will take ownership of the complete accounting cycle from source documents and daily transactional processing through to trial balance preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily transactional bookkeeping, capturing, matching, and processing financial documentation accurately within the general ledger.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable procedures, performing creditor balance reconciliations and maintaining structured debtor follow-ups.
• Perform routine banking allocations, cash book entries, petty cash management, and monthly bank reconciliations across all operational accounts.
• Calculate landed costs on imported stock shipments, factoring in freight, clearance, customs duties, and related logistics charges.
• Support inventory administration, including goods receipt processing, stock transfers, adjustments, and assistance with periodic stock counts.
• Perform monthly VAT calculations, reconciliations, and VAT201 return preparation for statutory review and submission via SARS eFiling.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and loan schedules to ensure cross-entity balance alignment across the group.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, process monthly journal entries (accruals, prepayments, provisions), and support year-end audit schedule preparation.

Requirements

• Senior Certificate / Matric (National Senior Certificate).
• Qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
• Demonstrated full-function bookkeeping experience in a multi-entity, commercial, or import environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and balance reconciliations).
• Working knowledge of South African VAT legislation, VAT201 completion, and SARS eFiling processes.
• ​Sage Accounting, Xero, MS Excel, SARS efiling
• Exposure to import costing, custom/clearing documentation, and international freight tracking.
• Experience in group intercompany reconciliations and multi-company account structures.
• Familiarity with EMP201 submissions and basic payroll support functions.
• Resident within or able to commute reliably to Table View, Cape Town for an office-based position.
• Clear credit and criminal record.
