Group Financial Accountant at Novus Holdings Ltd

Introduction

• Novus Holdings is currently seeking to employ a Group Financial Accountant. The successful incumbent will be focusing on key aspects within group financial department. The successful incumbent will report to the Group Financial Manager and must have a track record of excellence that is built on a strong foundation of values in a performance driven culture and a strategic thinker.

Job description

• Identify opportunities to automate finance processes
• Support the implementation of finance systems and reporting tools
• Compile tax relevant information for the group, calculate tax liabilities (income tax, deferred tax, provisional, etc) and submit relevant documentation to SARS including assisting with and responding to SARS queries &ensuring tax compliance
• Preparation of group consolidated financial statements and ensuring compliance with IFRS and JSE Listings requirements
• Preparation of subsidiary financial statements
• Calculation and submission of indirect taxes and other tax relevant information for the group, if required
• Perform the monthly group consolidation and reporting
• Assist with consolidating and analyzing budgeting and forecasting for the Group
• Assist with the group treasury function
• Prepare the general ledger for certain companies and other non-operating entities of the Group
• Provide technical accounting support and memoranda on IFRS matters
• Prepare audit files and supporting documentation
• Implement IFRS 18 and ESG reporting
• Ad hoc requirements including group initiatives or divisional financial projects

Minimum requirements

• Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA) with 1-3 years experience
• Experience with various accounting and reporting software
• Strong IFRS and Corporate Income tax knowledge
• JSE Listings requirements knowledge (advantageous)
• Exposure to gaming accounting and taxes (advantageous)
• Multi-industry reporting experience (advantageous)
