Guard at Sibanye-Stillwater

Job Purpose:

• To prevent and deter crime and security incidents by enforcing Legislation and Sibanye Stillwater’s Policy, Procedures and rules. To monitor and protect Sibanye Stillwater Assets and Employees at the various operations where SPS deploys.

Minimum Required Qualification:

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
• Must have knowledge of the various systems monitored in a Control Room such as CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, X-Ray Viewing Systems, Access Control Systems, intercom systems, radio and telephone systems
• Valid PSIRA Grade C certificate

The Appointee should:

• Clear security screening record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area
• Valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities:

• Computer literacy (MS Office package).
• Sound knowledge of Control Room operation in all its aspects
• The ability to utilise the systems available in a Control Room environment to detect incidents of risk and breach of procedures and policies
• Ability to effectively guide response teams to incidents and updating them with information regarding incidents in progress to improve their safety and chances of effecting arrests.
• Strong observation skills with the aim of being able to identify irregularities and breaches
• Basic understanding of camera technology
• Knowledge of mining and production processes
• Ability to operate under pressure
