Handyman :Workshop at Department Of Public Works And Infrastructure

REQUIREMENTS :

• ABET Level 4 qualification. No experience required. Must have interpersonal, basic literacy, effective communication and technical skills, operation of equipment, tools, Machinery, chemicals and technical maintenance. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. Ability to adopt to working schedule in accordance to office requirements. Adherence requirement of the Job. It will be expected of the incumbent to climb ladders for inspection, work in a confined space & perform maintenance in Government Buildings & Other Islands (Marion, Gough & Antarctica).

DUTIES :

• Assist Artisans with regards to repair and maintenance work in Government Buildings including Other Islands (Marion, Gough & Antarctica). Taking care of hand tools and machines, perform minor repair and maintenance work. Identify maintenance and repair needs, carrying, loading and off- loading of workshop tools as well as material. Compile Technical report. Check faults for repair and maintenance required and housekeeping of workshop and plant rooms to ensure compliance as per Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993
