Job Description
Asset Management Execution
Take accountability for deeply understanding the organisation’s current & future Technology roadmap and existing and future required assets & associated asset management implications
Maintain & regularly review the IT asset inventory for the organization (including information about asset ownership, value, warranty, refresh date, and end of life data, fixed asset registers etc.)
Provide input into IT asset management strategy & operational planning
Execute the IT asset management operational plans
Support the supply chain, demand planning & sourcing processes as an ITAM expert - providing accurate asset management information and data to support commercial decision making
Execute the following asset management practices & processes as per ITAM standards and guidelines:
Asset Tracking / Monitoring (e.g. asset verification and variance management)
Asset Upgrades & Disposals (i.e. Remove or retire hardware from service and dispose it in a method that complies with any contractual or environmental obligations)
Asset administration
Manage, govern or control the lifecycle of hardware from planning to disposal, aiming to reduce the total cost of ownership while still maintaining agreed upon service levels
Effectively & accurately Implement and use leading practice process, technology & related tools to ensure effective & efficiency asset portfolio & lifecycle management
Develop & communicate asset management data and analytics to enable business decision making
Implement and maintain asset management and asset lifecycle management leading practices, standards and guidelines for the organization – and make recommendations for their continuous improvement – ensure 100% compliance always e.g. asset disposal procedures, etc.
Stay ahead of the curve on leading practice HAM strategies and trends and identify opportunities for the organization to adopt better & more optimized asset management practices
Support asset management maturity assessments and positively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Take full accountability for the accuracy of the asset management inventory & all asset documentation
Ensure 100% accuracy, regular updates and usage of our asset management systems and technologies e.g. Service Now, CMDB etc.
Implement asset audits
Translate audit findings into business insights, identify business risk and implement solutions in mitigation of these
Take accountability for deeply understanding our asset portfolio metrics including e.g. performance, maintenance, deployment, reliability, accuracy, lifecycle status, asset count (ensuring all are traceable), asset costs, profitability & efficiencies – and use this information to continuously improve our asset management practices
Accountability: Governance, Risk, Compliance
Apply the group risk, governance, compliance, regulatory frameworks and standards
Effectively define and implement asset controls (governance)
Provide inputs & reporting requirements or coordinate relevant processes for all internal / external risk, regulatory, compliance and governance related process for managed services provision across the estate
Ensure compliance exceptions for ITAM are raised and managed in accordance with contract terms and resolve to mitigate broader organisational risk
Implement knowledge management & data management processes for the successful governance of ITAM activity
Maintain relevant, accurate & timely governance, risk and compliance information
Accountability: People
Proactively & effectively (time & quality) collaborate & drive collaboration across teams where it makes sense to do so (e.g. managing dependencies & interdependencies, conflict resolution, information & best practice sharing, problem resolution outside of own area etc.)
Apply collaboration skills in business reviews & issue resolution regardless of team boundaries & lead communication with relevant stakeholders through to conclusion
Contribute to a high performance team environment & culture as a high performing member of a self-directed team aligned to agile working
Leverage coaching techniques in all team / service provider related activity to drive a higher quality ITAM service
Proactively seek & provide feedback across a range of stakeholders for the benefit of the team & leverage feedback to consistently improve ITAM service delivery
Participate in peer reviews, problem solving within and across the broader team
Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management.
Must have strong Hardware Asset Management experience
Proven experience in managing complex federated IT Asset Management execution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications: CHAMP certification or equivalent.
