    Head: Corporate Marketing and Communication

    • iMas, a financial services Cooperative, is looking for a seasoned Head of Corporate Marketing and Communication, with senior/executive experience in the guidance and development of digital strategies, cross channel strategies and a strong track record in developing and executing data-centric marketing strategies and tactics, leveraging and optimizing channels and communication strategies. 
    • The incumbent of this position will oversee the development, implementation and management of marketing support services for both digital and traditional channels, ensuring the effective implementation of the iMas overall corporative marketing strategy to optimize member acquisition, retention and engagement, as well as lead a Customer Experience program and internal- and some external communication.
    • The successful candidate will be an outgoing, dynamic and energetic self-starter. 

    He/she will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
    Contribute to the implementation of the overall corporate strategy. 

    • Play a leading role in the development of an overall corporate marketing, communication and brand strategy.
    • Lead and coordinate the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy, action plans and budgets and report to the Human Resources, Social and Ethics Committee of the Board.

    Translate corporate strategy and business priorities into corporate marketing, brand, communication and customer experience strategies; action plans and budgets and execute the implementation thereof. 

    • Develop, manage, maintain and implement corporate marketing and communication policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that customer management functions are ready to provide specialized internal services to its customers, be it marketing support, campaigns, graphics, Group Brand Ambassador events and presentations support, events management, internal- and external communication, member management (including rewards) and customer experience. 

    Risk management within the division;

    • Lead the effective management, implementation and marketing of the iMas Rewards programme.
    • Conduct market research/customer satisfaction/loyalty surveys on iMas member journeys and touchpoints to identify gaps in the existing processes/products/operations/service. 
    • Manage and co-ordinate a group customer complaints policy and process and report trends/insights to the line of businesses. The data must influence the implementation of business corrective / improvement actions with the aim of improved customer experience.
    • Be the brand custodian for iMas and the Centre of Excellence for all product marketing.
    • Compile and manage external and internal communication strategies, plans and budgets.
    • Manage and co-ordinate continuous engagement with key stakeholders.
    • Build the iMas brand and reputation by driving awareness of the iMas value proposition.
    • Initiate actions to acquire new members and implement approved leads generation and sales promotions with targeted communication to participating employer groups and members.
    • Manage and implement retention communication to retain membership.
    • Manage and co-ordinate corporate events. 
    • Ensure ongoing data integrity of the member database.
    • Provide a digital- and graphical design service to internal clients.
    • Manage and oversee talent retention, transformation, people development, morale, employee movement and succession planning.

    Experience and Qualification

    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Marketing and Communication.
    • Honours or master’s degree would be advantageous.
    • Driver’s License – manual transmission would be preferable.
    • At least 5 years operational experience in Marketing and corporate communication. experience, including stakeholder management.
    • At least 5 years operational experience in Sales and/or business development experience.
    • 5 years corporate management (may be concurrent with the above).

     Other Responsibilities:

    • Understanding the financial services industry from a business perspective, and preferably also the insurance industry.
    • Advanced marketing knowledge and understanding of markets.
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of digital channels and social media.
    • Public relations and relationship building skills.
    • Internal and external stakeholder management and engagement skills.
    • Project management skills and capabilities.
    • Creative and cross-boundary thinking skills.
    • People management skills, including proven leadership and coaching skills to ensure positive, inspirational and visionary leadership.
    • Ability to plan, control and organise..
    • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
    • Capability to confidently interact with Executives and Board members.
    • Capability to fluently express him-/herself in the English language, both written and verbally.
