    Head - Fleet Management and Mechanical Works

    Requirements:

    • BSc/BTech/Advanced Diploma/B Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Fleet Management, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of relevant experience in fleet management, mechanical works, fleet maintenance, and managing workshop-related activities in an automotive environment.
    • Knowledge of the OHS Act, MFMA, local authority policies and procedures, SCM policies, and tender procedures in the relevant industry.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and solid knowledge of fleet management software and mechanical systems.
    • Proven track record in leading teams and providing personal leadership to influence and motivate self and peers.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office applications and SAP PM).
    • A valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Lead, direct, and manage the implementation of the water services fleet strategy, ensuring continual revision and alignment between policy, strategy, and business plans.
    • Ensure alignment with water services fleet policies and the City's fleet policies.
    • Ensure that all fleet activities comply with relevant legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Act, road transport legislation, and the road transport quality system), City policies, and strategies.
    • Develop, implement, and refine service level agreements with water services fleet clients.
    • Manage water and sanitation fleet assets cost-effectively and efficiently.
    • Implement proper processes and systems for accurate reflection of each fleet life cycle asset status.
    • Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the fleet administration and governance unit.
